About Timara

My name is Timara Tijae, and I am from Baltimore, MD. I am a journalist who is passionate about the visual aspect of storytelling. I love creating feature films and documentaries that share the personal stories of others. I have an associate's degree in business administration, which has given me hands-on experience taking the entrepreneur route in running my own small online business, Another Day Another Slay The Brand, drop shipping customized LED Signs. I also gained hands-on knowledge from working as a floater for M&T Bank in the greater Baltimore region. While at M&T Bank, I participated in community outreach programs with Baltimore SafeHaven, where I taught financial literacy courses monthly.

Despite my experience in business and banking, my true passion lies in journalism. I graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor's in Mass Communication and a minor in Electronic Media and Film. Throughout my studies, I created student films ranging from horror to romance, and I also worked on a documentary about the automotive company Motorweek. In addition to my coursework, I gained practical experience by being part of a live newscast. I learned how to shoot footage, write material, and understand the importance of researching background knowledge.

I have a strong understanding of newsworthiness and the impact a story can have on viewers. I am dedicated to finding and presenting meaningful and compelling stories that matter.  I will continue my role in storytelling and communication through different vectors such as marketing, content creation, data analytics, and storytelling through the visual style of documentaries.
